Roberto Machado

"What kind of name is 'Chod'. " I get that question all the time. Well, here's the answer.
My given name is Charles G. Lang III but my grandfather, Charles G. Lang, gave me that nickname 61 years ago and it has just stuck.

So just call me Chod.

Roberto is Chod's nephew. Roberto has worked alongside his uncle since he moved here from the Azores, Portugal when he was 10 years old.
When Chod built custom furniture and built-ins Roberto was right there paying attention to everything. His attention to detail was constant no matter what the circumstance.

Roberto's first love is VW and Audis but his desire to be his own man led him to start his own furniture repair business: Furniture Detailing LLC.

Roberto has taken professional courses in furniture repair and finishes and keeps up with the latest products and techniques for furniture repair.

I have been a professional woodworker for more than 35 years and my passion lies in working the wood by hand. In this day and age of hi-tech there's not much call for hand work except . . . when it comes to repairing antiques and fine wood furnishings.

My profession has taken me to New York, Portugal, New Jersey, Virginia and back to New Jersey. .

I have been a self-employed woodworker / designer / restorer most of my life but steady since 1992.
